Tough Dog Ford Everest UA Gen 1 (2015–2018) Complete 40mm Suspension Lift Kit
The Tough Dog Ford Everest (2015–2018) 40mm Suspension Kit is designed to deliver the ultimate balance between off-road capability and the refined on-road manners the Gen 1 UA Everest is known for. This kit specifically addresses the factory suspension’s tendency to feel “wallowy” through corners and sag under the weight of a full passenger load, caravan, or roof rack setup — restoring ground clearance and keeping the vehicle level and stable no matter how much gear you pack.
Utilising 41mm Bore Foam Cell Shock technology, perfectly valved to work with the Everest’s rear coil-spring and Watt’s Linkage configuration, this system delivers a controlled, predictable ride even on the most demanding South African corrugated roads.
Front Springs: High-tensile Coil Springs — available for No Bar, Steel Bullbar, or Winch setups
Rear Springs: Coil Springs — Comfort or Constant Load options (see below for guidance on choosing the right rating)
High-performance Polyurethane Bush Kit
Sway Bar Spacers (where required to maintain correct geometry)
Approx. Shipping Weight: 38kg – 46kg

📊 Choosing Your Rear Spring Rating
Not sure which rear spring to choose? Here’s a quick guide:
Comfort Rate — Best for owners who primarily drive unladen or with light loads. Provides a plush, refined ride for daily driving and occasional off-road use. Ideal if you rarely tow or carry heavy gear.
Constant Load Rate — Best for owners who regularly tow a caravan or trailer, run a drawer system, or carry heavy camping gear. Keeps the vehicle level under sustained load and prevents bump stop contact on rough terrain.

🚗 Why Upgrade Your Gen 1 UA Everest?
The Gen 1 UA Everest is a capable and well-rounded SUV — but its factory suspension is tuned heavily for unladen passenger comfort. Once equipped with a towbar, roof racks, or an off-road trailer, the vehicle frequently bottoms out on rough terrain and the wallowy handling becomes a real concern. The Tough Dog kit solves this comprehensively:
✅ Optional 9-stage adjustable shocks — fine-tune your ride for any load or terrain condition
🛡️ Warranty & Fitment Requirements
This kit includes a 4-Year / Unlimited Kilometre Recreational Warranty — strictly activated through professional installation.
Approved Fitment: Advanced 4x4 Branch in Strand, any authorised Tough Dog fitment centre, or an RMI-accredited workshop
Warranty Integrity: Must be fitted by a qualified technician with the odometer reading recorded on the fitment invoice at time of installation
Price Excludes: Fitment and wheel alignment. Contact us to book your installation at our Strand branch

The lenses inside the lights are crucial, as they are responsible for directing the beam and creating the necessary cut-off. Unfortunately, the lights I received do not match the lenses shown in the product picture, specifically at the top and bottom. Additionally, the company did not have stock, and I had to pay an extra R1000 to have them sourced from a different supplier, which was frustrating given the product mismatch. I am still in the process of trying to find an installer for these. Since I need the lights for a trip I am unable to return them, once they are installed, I can review on quality.
