Restore your bakkie’s load handling and upgrade its trail performance with the commercial truck-tough RAW 4x4 Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for the GWM Steed 5 and Steed 5E Series. Born from a legacy of heavy commercial vehicle engineering by Powerdown, this system eliminates the harsh unladen ride of the stock Steed while providing up to 45mm of ground clearance — carefully optimised to maintain safe operating velocity and angular thresholds for the front independent CV joints and steering linkages.

The GWM Steed 5 uses a classic IFS with adjustable torsion bars paired with a traditional leaf-sprung rear axle. The upgraded heavy-duty TB1501 Torsion Bars — thicker diameter than OEM to support steel bumpers and winches without sagging — and R-GWM05B Constant-Load Leaf Springs stop dangerous rear-end sag dead in its tracks. Equipped with heavy-duty Nitro shocks with multi-stage velocity-sensitive disk valving calibrated to eliminate the signature nose-diving and body roll common to the stock Steed chassis.

Important Installation Note

⚠️ The GWM Steed 5 IFS platform requires a manual torsion bar crank during front installation. A professional wheel alignment is mandatory immediately after fitment to ensure correct caster, camber, and toe settings and prevent uneven tyre wear. We strongly recommend booking your alignment at the time of fitment.
