A steel front or rear bumper is one of the biggest upgrades you can make to a bakkie or 4x4. It protects the front or rear on the trail, gives you recovery points and, on many models, a mount for a winch, spotlights or a towbar. Advanced 4x4 designs and makes its own bumpers in Strand and fits them at our workshop. Whether you are replacing a damaged bakkie bumper or building a touring rig, this guide shows what we make for each vehicle.

Winch-ready bumpers
Bumpers marked winch-ready above have a built-in winch mount. Pair one with a winch from our winch fitment range and we can fit both in one booking. Our LC76/79 combo kits also include a number plate / winch plate bracket. Without a winch, a Jeep top plate closes the winch opening for a clean finish.
Parking sensors and cameras
- GWM Tank 300 front and rear bumpers: PDC holders keep the factory parking sensors working.
-
Jimny Gen 4 rear bumper: not compatible with PDC or a factory reverse camera.
- Jeep JK/JL front and rear bumper camera brackets.
- For any other bumper, check the product page or ask us before you order.

How a bumper fitment works
- Tell us your vehicle, year and what you want the bumper to carry (winch, lights, towbar, spare wheel).
- We confirm the right bumper and send a fitment quote.
- Book a slot on the Book a fitment page.
- We fit the bumper and any extras, and go through the fitment with you when you collect.

Frequently asked questions
What does winch-ready mean?
A winch-ready bumper has a built-in mounting point for a winch, so you don't need a separate winch plate. The winch itself is sold separately. See our winch fitment page for winches and fairlead brackets.
Will a steel bumper affect my airbags?
Our own-brand product pages don't state airbag certification, so ask us about your exact vehicle and year before you order. We will tell you what we know about that bumper and that vehicle.
Will I keep my parking sensors?
It depends on the bumper. The Tank 300 front and rear bumpers have PDC holders for the factory sensors. The Jimny rear bumper does not suit Jimnys with PDC or a factory reverse camera. For other bumpers, check the product page or ask us.
Bullbar, bikini or stubby: which should I choose?
A bullbar covers the grille and headlights for the most protection. A bikini bumper is lighter and more open. A stubby bumper is shorter, which improves the approach angle for rock crawling. Tell us how you drive and we will suggest one.
Do I need to cut my vehicle to fit a bumper?
Many of our bumpers bolt to the factory mounting points, and the product page says when no cutting or welding is needed. If you are unsure, ask us before you order.
Can I replace just a damaged factory bumper?
Yes. Ask us about a steel replacement, or see the OEM-style Toyota Hilux 2005–2011 front bumper (unpainted). For other vehicles, call us with the make, model and year.
